Film was the first medium through which Joonhee Myung began her artistic journey in 2013. Starting with documentary, her practice gradually shifted toward experimental video and moving images, where image, sound, and movement became tools for exploring memory, ecology, and presence. Her films, often fluid and dreamlike, form a vital strand of her multidisciplinary approach, resonating with her drawings, photographs, and texts.
With the advent of AI technology, she has also expanded into AI-based experiments, testing how new technologies can intersect with hand-drawn illustration, video, and sound. These works continue her long-standing interest in the thresholds between human and nonhuman, memory and absence, stillness and motion, carrying her practice into yet another evolving frontier.

Single Channel Video, 2 min 4 sec, 2025 At the heart of this video is a question that resists easy answers: What does it mean for nature to return? This piece is both a farewell and a homecoming. An inquiry into boundary dwelling species that return to places of memory. It was made with original iphone found footages, my series of year long memos and poems, Sora AI, Logic Pro, Riffusion and Instagram Reel edits and Final Cut Pro. It's a "remix" or '뽕짝' in Korean of two different videos combined to sound like one visual remix.

J disappears one day and is found in Chile. She misses making films and decides to use her iphone mini and free app for editing. One year of Kino Izvestiyas show her life, internal landscape of a woman falling apart in an even more tumultuous social surrounding. Poetry and found footage reveal another side of the story.

A child’s solitary flight across borders becomes a mirror for the fractured geographies within us. Images of displacement dissolve into fragments of memory, language, and song, each piece colliding, refracting, and returning as a fragile chorus. Peace Reprise asks whether migration and belonging, conflict and refuge, can converge in the shared horizon of a future imagined.
